STEP 1: NETWORKING & COFFEE CHATS
ADVICE:
When networking, reach out to people with common interests and form genuine connections! Ask deeper questions about a club or firm that can't just be answered from their website; instead, focus on learning more about the person's background and experiences to help build a stronger relationship that will pay dividends going forward.
ADVICE:
Be yourself throughout the recruitment process and focus on showing who you are beyond your resume. Take advantage of every opportunity to go to networking events, ask genuine questions, and learn more about the roles you're interested in. You’ll get the most out of recruitment by staying curious and engaged!
STEP 2: RESUME ROUND
TIPS:
1..Use each bullet to highlight your impact by: a) using quantitative and qualitative outcomes and b) using a strong structure of action verb + what you did + why/how you did it + result.
2..Be intentional with how you order your resume. How you order and group your experiences and descriptions tells the reader what to prioritize remembering about you.
3..Formatting shouldn't be an afterthought! Keep your resume to one single-sided page, aim for bullet points that are roughly one line each, and use consistent spacing, margins, fonts, and alignment.
